According to legend, Sage Bhrigu was a master of astrology and a mind-born son of Brahma. He once asked Lord Brahma for a way to help humanity understand their karma and life path. Brahma instructed him to record the destinies of all beings based on their past actions. Bhrigu then traveled across the three worlds, collecting data and composing over 5 million horoscopes. These were later condensed and inscribed on palm leaves in the Pali or Sanskrit language, primarily in the Vatteluttu script.
