In an ethnographic observation of a 2024 summer camp with no Wi-Fi, children with Switches loaded with offline games played next to each other, occasionally glancing over, but more importantly, talking about their separate worlds. The DDP shifted social currency from shared performance (winning a match) to shared narrative (telling the story of how you tamed a fox).
