Born and raised in Belgium, DJ Hazel (whose real name is Hilde Haghedoorn) was introduced to music at a young age. Her parents, both music enthusiasts, encouraged her to explore her creative side, and she began playing the piano at the age of six. As she grew older, her interests shifted towards electronic music, and she started experimenting with DJing in her teenage years. After completing her studies, DJ Hazel decided to pursue a career in music, and in 2001, she released her debut single, "I Want You."
