: To accommodate the massive length of Hollywood features, IMAX had to innovate its hardware. Standard IMAX film platters were originally designed for shorter documentaries; in 2006, engineers had to speed up end-credits or physically expand the platters to fit 150-minute epics like Poseidon and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (which had an extended run into early 2006).
