The story centers on Kelly, a shy, obese teenager who has resigned himself to a life of ridicule and social isolation. Plagued by bullies and struggling with his health, Kelly becomes the target of a traveling faith healer named Reinke, played with unsettling charisma by Lance Henriksen.
