Malayalam films are often celebrated for their "rootedness." They capture the specific nuances of the Kerala landscape—from the lush backwaters of Alappuzha to the misty hills of Wayanad—and the daily lives of its people.
Simultaneously, the "Gulf" hangs over every Malayali family like a second sun. The 1989 classic Peruvannapurathe Visheshangal and the 2019 hit Unda —which followed a group of Kerala police officers on a surreal election duty in Maoist territory—both implicitly deal with the anxieties of a remittance economy and the longing for a homeland left behind. The quintessential Malayali hero is no longer a muscular warrior; he is often a disgruntled Pravasi (expatriate) returning home, only to find the home he remembers no longer exists. Perhaps the most profound link between Malayalam cinema and its culture is the language. Malayalam cinema treasures its dialects—the nasal twang of Thrissur, the sharp lilt of Kasaragod, the Christian slang of Kottayam. The dialogue writer Syam Pushkaran has elevated mundane conversation into a literary art form. The way a character orders tea (" Chaya ") or argues about a pappadam 's crispness tells you more about their class, district, and moral compass than any exposition could. This fidelity to linguistic nuance grounds the most absurd plots in an unshakable reality. Malayalam films are often celebrated for their "rootedness
Niclas from Noise Industries is straight up lying. Any pro editor worth his weight can tell you that the FXfactory Pro plug-in is NOTORIOUS for slowing down your FCPX workflow, stalling it, and bringing about the dreaded spinning beach ball. It’s a shame since they do have some cool effects, but what’s the point of having them installed when every time you attach it to a clip in your FCPX timeline, everything freezes? The people over at NI have been in denial over this fact for years. On the other hand, no such freezing, stalling, or hanging problems with plugins from motionVFX, Coremelt, FCPeffects, or Red Giant. Case closed.
That all the trials and optional addins are installed by default is what stops me from installing it.
Install FxFactory and you get 60 plugins installed on next startup – and then there’s no “uncheck all”. You have to go through every one and uninstall if you don’t want it. Quite ridiculous.
I’ve provided feedback on this, pleading that they at least have a “uninstall all” but they won’t budge saying “The majority of users are happy trying a product at least once…”
Yeah I agree with you on that. I don’t like software that installs itself without my permission! But once you have it dialed in, it works great.
