Xenia Emulator Keyboard Controls May 2026

The analog sticks (left and right) using WASD or IJKL behave as digital inputs. That means you move at 100% speed instantly, or not at all. There is no subtle walking or slow aiming. For racing games or stealth titles, this is a significant disadvantage.

The uses a default keyboard mapping that simulates an Xbox 360 controller. While Xenia is primarily designed for use with an XInput controller, you can navigate and play using the following hardcoded keyboard layout: Default Keyboard Layout Directional Pad / Left Stick : W , A , S , D (Movement) Face Buttons : A : K B : L X : I Y : O Shoulder Buttons (Bumpers) : LB : Q RB : E Triggers : LT : Z (or U ) RT : X (or P ) System Buttons : Start : Enter Back : Backspace Guide/Xbox Button : F1 (or Home ) Right Analog Stick : Arrow Keys ( ↑ , ↓ , ← , → ) Customizing Controls xenia emulator keyboard controls

Getting it set up takes a little bit of manual "under the hood" work in your config files, but it’s straightforward once you know where to look. For racing games or stealth titles, this is

Within the [HID.WinKey] section of the TOML file, users can manually change the key assignments.

For the best experience with Xenia, . Keyboard controls are limited (no analog triggers, no vibration, no pressure-sensitive face buttons). If you must use keyboard, consider mapping LT/RT to mouse buttons (using third-party software) for better shooting/driving control.
